Keije Resort Bunyonyi is one of Uganda’s first intimate lodges, located on the shores of lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake, right opposite Kyahugye, Munanira and Akahonde Islands. This is the perfect location for your photographic safaris in the Kigezi Virunga region, a point of reflection and intimacy and a stopover on the way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Keije Resort Bunyonyi is a small eco-friendly lodge, entirely made with local materials and African art, with its raised en-suite wooden deck cottages on one well thought block, spacious rooms and bathroom, all finished with wood. For absolute comfort, we chose a minimalistic furnishing theme. The restaurant offers international standard menu and dining area, with emphasis on freshly harvested foods.
The Keije Resort Bunyonyi eco- Lodge partially uses clean energy and power – Solar systems and the national grid power that gives 24hr power and hot water to all guest rooms. All electrical appliances are energy efficient.The Low power consumption fridges provide safe food storage conditionsand drinks are sometimes cold by the natural room temperature of the area.
Cooking is provided with clean sources like gas and eco-stoves using volcanic rocks.. Attention is given to waste management disposal and recycling of any materials. Water is safe as it comes from a nearby water supply point.
Lake Bunyonyi is one of the most beautiful lake found in Kabale and southwestern Uganda. The lake is ranked as the second largest and deepest in Africa, it’s one of Uganda’s iconic natural attractions and it is a place of very many small birds thus the origin of its name “Bunyonyi”.
Keije resort has been designed to offer captivating cultural themes of the Bakiga culture, African art, and is the only gateway to the amazing and mysterious Bucuranuka Island, where hospitality is a natural calling.
